Are you an undergraduate interested in microbiology, ecology or evolution? Do you have some computational experience but want to learn more? We have a number of bioinformatics projects suitable for independent study or possible capstone project. We are looking for you! Click through for details...

Successful students will have familiarity with a programming language (python, perl, java, R, shell, or related) and biological databases (NCBI, greengenes, Silva, pfam, CAZy, or many others). For capstone projects, students must enter the lab at least one semester before the capsone project officially begins. Please email kristend@umass.edu (preferably with a resume and statement of interest) to find out more. Help yourself and learn a (computer) language!
