MICROBIO 265 Introduction to Microbiology Laboratory

This lab course will cover basic concepts of microbiology with an emphasis on sterile technique, microscopy, isolation and cultivation of microorganisms.  Identification of pathogenic organisms, antibiotic susceptibility testing, how pathogens are spread and the detection of microbes in food will be covered. This is a 2 credit course for NON-MAJORS. It is geared for students applying to post-graduate health care programs (physician assistant, nurse practitioner, pharmacy, etc.). Enrollment is by application only.
